I have containers ready to go with biscuits, sultanas etc in the pantry. All I need to do is grab and go as we run out the door. I find it much easier to do this in one go once a week or so, than to get a snack ready when we need to leave for somewhere.

Sigh, the time has come.
The time has come, I'm afraid. I've been very reluctant to put the impossibly annoying anti spam can-you-read-the-the-stupid-blurry-numbers feature. Things were ok before - only a few spam comments made it though the Blogger spam detector machine. However, recently the number of spam comments has gone up, and the tone of the spam has gone down. I had been getting imitation clothes and discount cigarettes before, but the porn spam was new.
I hate the blurry letter recognition feature, I really do. I often browse with many tabs open at once, and the capture thing seems to get confused. I want to make my comment and be done with it, not be stuck refreshing and losing my comments.
However, I think this is what needs to happen now. So sorry for the fuzzy annoying carry on :(

Time saving hint
We eat A LOT of cheese in this house! Things also get a bit crazy at dinner time, so pre grated cheese is a good idea for us.
Grated cheese is much more expensive per kilo than block cheese, so for the cost of a few minutes time using a hand me down for processor and a snap lock bag, I'm all sorted!
I use an overly large bag so it can freeze flat rather than in a big lump. I just brush off what is needed when I need it, and hey presto - all done. Not life saving, but it does make things a teeny bit easier, and sometimes at the end of the day I needed every teeny bit I can get!

Afternoon tea
I was fortunate to have three very dear friends over for afternoon tea today. Now that the renovations are finished, I've been able to get out our wedding china. For the last four years it's been sitting in boxes in the top of Chubs' wardrobe. We didn't have room for it in the kitchen, so it was a huge hassle to use it. I would been to take it down from the bedroom, use it, wash it all up by hand and then repack it into the boxes and put them away. Needless to say, it only happened once.Today was the second time ever that it had been used. I'm really looking forward to using it more often.
I also opened our wedding cutlery and it will be our every day set now. Yes, it might get a few dishwasher spots (yay dishwasher) but I would rather that and actually USE it. We don't have the space to store it, so the old cheap cutlery is headed to greener pastures and the beautiful, expensive wedding set is about to put its lifetime warranty to the test.
